Yacht Designs Up For Auction |

Posted by Deidre Woollard The estate of the late yacht designer Tom Fexas is auctioning off 10 unique yacht designs created by the designer who died in 2006. These individual Fexas designs were never built.
The 10 copyrighted designs offered for sale by Fexas' estate and IpAuctions, Inc. include the outboard profile and general arrangement for yachts ranging in size from 65 feet to 145 feet. Each design includes originals hand drawn by Tom Fexas, certificate of authenticity, artistic rendering, copyright and a one-time use licensing agreement. Minimum bids begin at $12,500 per design and both yacht builders and potential yacht owners are invited to bid. Each winner also gets five hours of consultation with the Fexas design staff to finalize the hull design to meet the targeted usage requirements. The lure here is in being able to bill whatever yacht is created as a Tom Fexas designed boat. The design shown above for a 145-foot, retro-styled yacht, has a minimum bid of $20,000. The auction ends March 20. |
